On the birthday of Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji, Hema Serdesai dedicates her forthcoming album “Jhoom” spiritual world music offering to her beloved guru.
After her hit song ‘Chori Chori’ in Garam Masala in 2006, Hema Serdesai is back with ‘JHOOM’, a strong unique album, the FIRST of it’s kind, meant to truly ‘Rock the Universe!’.
Hema says “‘JHOOM’ is the most fashionable groove to modern Spirituality”.
The whole album rocks with pure, intense and unexplored ENERGY in a manner as never before.
The album has ten wonderful songs, on genres such as ROCK, SUFI, FOLK, QAWWALI, WALTZ, BALLAD, LOUNGE, PARTY and RAMP based on WORLD MUSIC.
It has songs to certainly rock the soul as it is dedicated especially to Hema’s beloved Guru ‘Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji Art of Living Foundation’, wherein even her personal fee for the album will go towards charity.
Hema has sung and also composed six songs in the album and written almost all the lyrics herself. Sunny Ali (based in Hong Kong) has composed and written some of the songs in the album while Hyacinth D’Souza has designed the music arrangement. Rajesh Raj Bhat worked on the percussions.
The highlight of the album is that while making it with the deepest dedication, these four Artistes happily realized that coincidently or by sheer good faith, according to worldly norms they belonged to four different religions, namely, Hinduism, Islam, Christianity and Buddhism.
For the first time here is an album which contains songs based on so many different religions.
